Rwanda gets a lot of foreign aid and investment and even with this F1 setup, the airport near the race track is owned by Qatar. Qatar has 60% of ownership. A foreign country is the majority owner of an airport in Rwanda.
Here is how this works for example...
A company in France manufactures streetlights. It has been doing work with the French government and has close relationships with politicians in France. After some time, France is nice and bright.
The company then goes to the government and says "Bro, we are happy for the business but we can do more. We are not getting that many tenders anymore to install new streetlights in France. Rwanda doesn't have streetlights. We estimate it would cost $300m to put streetlights on the main highways but they don't have that money right now".
The French go to Rwanda and say "Hey, do you want streetlights?". Rwanda says "Yea. That would be nice. We are busy moving minerals from Congo in the dark".
The French government "donates" $300m to a streetlight project in Rwanda but on one condition...
The work must be done by a French company.
They appoint the company that is connected to politicians in France. The company that was running out of streetlight projects in France now has a $300m tender in Rwanda which they would not get in France because the need for new streetlights has declined.
This is also why foreign countries are always donating new roads in Africa. This is also why South African got a lot of "free" generators from the Chinese government during load shedding.
Linux phone navigation is coming together.
The future is your phone being fully agentic and being able to modify itself and write software for you on the fly. Ram is very limited on this device but I will see how a fully local model will perform, something sub 1.5B.

Fanon wrote that, the colonised person uses religion to release tensions that should be directed at the oppressor.
The energy that should fuel revolt gets, redirected into the spiritual.
She has 3 children. All of her children are employed. All of her children live in suburbs. None of her children use public transport. None of her children have ever gone to public schools or used public hospitals.

I suppose the problem is that we expect the party that presided over the problem to fix it.
We are the fools, actually.
They don’t have a solution.
They didn’t have one before these protests started.
They don’t have one now.
Its illegal for a foreigner to own and run a business in SA without a capital investment of R5m. Its illegal to employ illegal immigrants. By doing that you risk being imprisoned for up to 5 years. Looking at the state of things, does anyone think these laws are being enforced?
