it’s easy to consume queerness as a trope. it’s much harder to accept queer people as people. have the day you deserve, and maybe spread some kindness while you’re at it :)

the way people throw around “boti” as an insult says more about how society views femininity than it does about queer people. the insult only works because femininity—especially in men—is still treated as something degrading.

that’s why homophobia and misogyny are so deeply intertwined. it’s the same reason some people are perfectly fine reading gay aus or consuming mlm media, but suddenly get uncomfortable when queer people exist outside of fiction.
