Also, a big part of Rick's original role in the comics was being the only person who knew Bruce and the Hulk were the same for the first several issues; since so many adaptations have it be public knowledge from the get-go, that's a key aspect of Rick's character made moot
Much as I wish he'd be included in more adaptations, I understand it's difficult figuring out how to do so. (Bruce saving him after he drives onto the gamma bomb test site relies on everyone in that situation making the dumbest decisions. I love it, but it don't adapt well)
Its like if you wanted to blow cigarette smoke in someone's face, but theres a no smoking sign so you do the grade school thing of blowing out crushed Smarties dust instead.
Much as I hate the trend of "censor any language that might get me shadowbanned or whatever," it is genuinely hilarious to see someone call someone else a "f****t" and expect it to be cutting
TW: Video of another ICE shooting in Minneapolis.
Video taken of shooting in front of New American Development Center on 26th & Nicollet Ave, where @StarTribune reports large federal presence.
Several ICE agents shown trying to subdue a man before firing ~12 shots, maybe more.
@steev____ It does! An old black patient shows up who was part of the Freedom House Ambulance Service and theres a whole scene dedicated to talking about it and what a huge deal it was
Not coming for op in particular, i just think about how people will poke fun at film bros in ways like"film bros when you tell them your favorite movie is star wars instead of a 1932 Albanian movie about mice" where the joke is "only douchebags would like a movie that weird!"
Not a fan of how dismissive this is of older/foreign films. I know there are assholes who equate their film tastes with superiority. But do you really think that the only reason someone would watch an old/obscure/european/etc film is so they could feel smug about it?
film twt when awards season hits and they’re forced to binge the oscar nominees instead of watching silent films from 1920s and european movies that only 30 people logged on letterboxd
The combination of "Everyone's expectations are way too high," "Everyone's expectations are way too different," "by the time it got made the hype for it will have died down," would be ruinous, and the resulting online discourse would be inescapable for 3-4 days. Maybe even 5
If you're sick of "Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?" like everyone else, try redirecting the convo into "Every film taking place at Christmastime but not about Christmas is Die Hard" for a completely different argument
Edward Scissorhands is Die Hard with scissors for hands
