CBP Agriculture Canine Handler and K9 Sampson alerted to prohibited products in a package from Laos at DHL. Pork skins and chicken soup powder were seized and destroyed, helping protect U.S. agriculture from foreign animal diseases and pests. Way to go K9 SAMPSON!!!!

BPA McDonough started his CBP career in 2007. He recently served at the Wellesley Island Border Patrol Station, Buffalo Sector in New York. He also served in Nogales Station and in Houlton Sector. BPA McDonough also served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and as a Military Police Officer.
He is a true hero who selflessly served to protect America.

Area Port of Savannah Agriculture Specialists identified potential ivory in a pax luggage arriving from Brazil. The individual had declared the items as wooden crafts and antiques; however, Fish and Wildlife Services (FWS) confirmed that these items were baby elephant ivory.

October 9, 2025, CBP-Charlotte Cargo seized a suspected 2,556 kilos of Kratom. The shipment originated in Jakarta, Indonesia and was manifested as “Natural Fabric Mordant for Coloring Textile”. After confirmed lab testing shipment was confirmed Kratom, and tagged for destruction.
