White-winged Wood Duck (দেওহাঁহ) is the state bird of Assam. It is an endangered species listed in IUCN red list.
I am happy to have sighted this shy and secretive bird in Dihing Patkai NP guided by #AsomGaurav Sri Binanda Hati Boruah today and take a few photographs.

In Nameri Tiger Reserve, we tried a new experiment for conservation of White Winged Wood Duck (WWWD). Based on careful study of their habitat conditions, we created an artificial Beel 'Neelmoni Beel'
The result? A WWWD was spotted in the Beel, making the effort a great success.
Delighted to share that camera traps, set up jointly by the Digboi Forest Division and the Wildlife Institute of India, have successfully captured images of the elusive wild dogs (Dholes) within the Dehing Patkai National Park!

Ceremonially opened the gates of Dehing Patkai National Park today for the tourists for 2023-24 season. Also inaugurated the Soraipung Range Office under Digboi Forest Division. Hon’ble MLAs Shri Suren Phukan and Shri Sushanta Borgohain along with senior forest officials were also present on the occasion.
