White-winged Wood Duck (দেওহাঁহ) is the state bird of Assam. It is an endangered species listed in IUCN red list.

I am happy to have sighted this shy and secretive bird in Dihing Patkai NP guided by #AsomGaurav Sri Binanda Hati Boruah today and take a few photographs.

In Nameri Tiger Reserve, we tried a new experiment for conservation of White Winged Wood Duck (WWWD). Based on careful study of their habitat conditions, we created an artificial Beel 'Neelmoni Beel'

The result? A WWWD was spotted in the Beel, making the effort a great success.

Delighted to share that camera traps, set up jointly by the Digboi Forest Division and the Wildlife Institute of India, have successfully captured images of the elusive wild dogs (Dholes) within the Dehing Patkai National Park!

Today held a review meeting at Tinsukia to take stock of the ongoing activities of #AmritBrikshyaAndolan 2.0 in the district in presence of officials from the Environment & Forest Department and Tinsukia District Administration.

Instructed all the stakeholders for proactive participation and plant saplings on the occasion of #एक_पेड़_माँ_के_नाम and commit to this vital cause of increasing Assam’s green cover and #PromotingTreeEconomy.
