DAL’s search was far and away the worst.
Even if they wanted continuity…
"You Christians worship a God-man."
Yes. That's literally the Gospel. As a Muslim, I used to think that was the ultimate criticism.
Now I think it's the most beautiful truth I've ever heard. Because Christianity doesn't teach that God stayed distant.
It teaches that God came near. The One who created galaxies stepped into His own creation.
Not to show off or dominate. Not to sit on a throne demanding more from us.
But to suffer for us, to walk among us. To carry our grief, and bleed for us. To die for us. And to rise again.
What finally changed my perspective was realizing that "Son of God" never meant God had a biological child.
In the Jewish world, it meant sharing the same nature.
The claim wasn't that God had a baby. The claim was that God revealed Himself. And honestly, that's where Islam lost me.
Because I spent years believing God would never humble Himself enough to enter His creation. Then I realized that's exactly what makes Him glorious.
Not that He stayed far away. That He came close.
Close enough to touch lepers. Close enough to weep. Close enough to suffer. Close enough to die. So yes, Christians worship the God-man. Because no mere man could save us.
And a god who remains forever distant cannot show us the depth of divine love.
But Jesus did. Fully God, fully man and fully enough.
I was raised Mormon and it took me a long time to understand how fundamentally different it is from historic Christianity. Even as recently as 3 years ago, I didn't get why it was a big deal that we didn't believe in the Trinity
Mormon theology does not present God as an "uncaused cause", existence itself, the "Logos". In Mormonism, God *is* a "man in the sky", a created being, someone who was once human but is now exalted within our known universe. This opens up a lot of problems imo. For example: what happens when death and evil are overcome on our planet, and you reach exaltation? You are now a God of a new universe/planet to create a new race of humanity and evil arises all over again and the drama continues into eternity? There is no message of the ultimate overcoming of death/evil as in historic Christianity
In all my childhood and young adult instruction in the LDS church, I never learned that Jesus was "God in the flesh" or anything like that. Jesus really was taught as a distinct BEING from God the Father (who again... Is a *created being*). It is a fundamentally different Christ that is believed and worshipped.
Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless. Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.
- Psalm 60:11-12 (NKJV)
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
Pro3:5-6
He owns all the paths...trust Him!
What am I seeing?
- Reduced empathy
- Increased aggression
- Rising support for authoritarianism
- Declining critical thinking
- Less moral inhibition
- Rising disinhibition & antisocial behavior
- Lack of focus/commitment
- Frequent memory lapses
- Increased impulsivity
As a neurologist, it is now patently clear to me that the vast majority of people on the planet are suffering from neuroinflammation or brain damage (likely both)
The way people speak & behave has changed. Markedly so.
Whether irl, or via messaging/social media. It’s noticeable
Could neuroinflammation be the next obesity?
The surging challenge of SARS-CoV-2-associated neurological disorders has made it undeniably clear: our current diagnostic & therapeutic toolkit is obsolete. We need a better detection tools and validated treatments to address this looming crisis.
" I charge you in the presence of God and of Jesus Christ, who is to judge the living & the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching." 2Tim4:1-3
"be ready"
For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, That I may walk before God In the light of the living?
- Psalm 56:13 (NKJV)
The statements in Matthew 5:20 and Matthew 5:48 are meant to shock and shake us out of self-reliance and lethargy, but their message is not one of condemnation. Rather, they are an invitation.

Romans 14:11-12
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
So much for the *blessing* of wealth.
“King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the people of Israel, ‘You shall not enter into marriage with them.’” 1 Kings 11:1–2
Today is the Lord's Day.
There is no better place to be than with the people of God, worshiping the risen Christ. Come hear the Gospel. Come sit under the authority of God's Word. Come encourage and be encouraged by fellow believers. Come worship the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Christ is worthy of your time, your attention, your praise, and your obedience.
Let's gather and worship Him.
