Once again, Oneworld’s growth has been phenomenal at DFW Airport with the introduction of Iberia, Finnair, Qantas’ new Melbourne flight, and more.
Now Oneworld is moving its headquarters to Fort Worth.
Interesting. @traveloneworld is relocating from NYC to co-locate with @AmericanAir. And the two are moving quick with the move scheduled for December 20222.
Air Canada will begin flying Boeing 767 Freighters to DFW. First flight appears to be November 2.

Weekly seat capacity each way between DFW and Tokyo, around 5,900 seats, is roughly 10% greater than pre-COVID levels.
Weekly frequency, 25x each way, is 19% greater than pre-COVID levels.
In November, there will be record seat capacity and frequency on flights between DFW and Tokyo.
Japan Airlines will now maintain its 11x weekly frequency (7x HND/4x NRT) through November and American will resume its DFW-HND route.
This is compared to a 4x weekly A330-200 in the 2022 summer season.
Iberia recently made its MAD-DFW route year-round with the A330-300 operating 3x weekly during the winter.
Iberia is expanding with more frequencies for its MAD-DFW route next year
- March 2023 | 4x weekly
- April 2023 | 5x weekly
- May 2023 | 6x weekly
- June 2023 & beyond | 1x daily
Flights will operate with the Airbus A330-300.
@dfwtower For Finnair, I think one-way arriving/departing seats should be around 5,000 instead of 7,086? Since June they had 4,870 seats each way and in July they didn't significantly increase capacity.
Finnair appears to be adjusting its winter schedule (October 30 to March 24) for DFW.
The Airbus A350-900 will continue to operate its Helsinki to DFW route instead of the previously planned switch to the A330-300.
Bunch of diversions at @DFWAirport today, including the first for the British Airways A380 flight. It’s been sent to Chicago.
Qantas is diverting as well with the 787 heading to Austin.
Southwest Airlines is facing a major decision over whether to remain exclusively at @dallaslovefield or to expand to @dfwairport when a key provision expires in 2025.
The ghosts of the Wright Amendment are lingering over @southwestair. How we got here.

Confirmed: Japan Airlines will increase to 11x weekly passenger flights in October: https://t.co/9G4Z6BhGsp
The Boeing 777-300ER will continue to fly on its HND-DFW route three times a week.
Unconfirmed for now:
Japan Airlines plans to ramp up passenger flights from Tokyo to DFW from 7x to 11x weekly in October:
- 7x weekly Tokyo Haneda
- 4x weekly Tokyo Narita (Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri)
On the days with two flights, the second flight, which seems to rotate between HND/NRT, will arrive in DFW at 11:55 AM and depart at 2:25 PM.
Both operated with the 787-9.
All subject to change.
@LSAviationPhoto Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday through the end of September. Could get extended into October, but unsure of that if they do plan to increase to 11x weekly.
British Airways inaugurated Airbus A380 service to @DFWAirport.
How were the loads?
Approximately 100% both ways. The inbound and outbound were sold out hours before departure.
It’s finally here! British Airways inaugurated Airbus A380 flights to @DFWAirport this evening.
This is DFW’s first Airbus A380 flight since March 2020.
British Airways’ decision to fly the A380 to DFW is a major part of the airport’s continuous rebound and expansion. #avgeek
