A significant Winter Storm is expected to impact the DFW area Friday night through Monday. A wintry mix/FRZ Rain can start as early as Friday evening. A transition to snow is possible late Saturday. 2-5 inches of snow/sleet, up to 1/2 inch of ice possible. Subject to change.

A PDS Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 PM CDT for parts of the Texas South Plains, western North Texas and southwest Oklahoma. Widespread severe winds and very large hail are possible. Stay weather aware this afternoon/evening.

Hail threat is expected to be 1.5+ inches in diameter. Localized wind gust of 115 mph is possible. Overall, this storm is very dangerous and will warrant a watch soon. Be prepared and safe.

A significant severe storm is expected to come through the DFW metroplex around the timeframes of 8pm-12am. A derecho is possible. Extreme wind gusts of 90-100+ mph is possible, reaching hurricane force. Spin-up tornadoes are also possible but the wind threat is more concerning.
