Estoy en el Bar Mitzvá de un niño cuya familia está repartida por medio mundo. Muchos de sus seres queridos no pudieron llegar por los problemas con los vuelos. Para que no le faltara la alegría en un día tan importante, sus familiares invitaron a un grupo de soldados que estaba cerca. Ellos aceptaron sin dudarlo y vinieron a bailar, cantar y celebrar con un niño al que ni siquiera conocían.

Esto es Israel. Esto es ser judío. Y quizá precisamente esa capacidad de seguir siendo una familia, incluso en los momentos más difíciles, es algo que muchos nunca han logrado entender y prefieren odiarnos.
