Let’s have a fact-based and unbiased dialogue:

1. Truth Over Fantasy
A spiritual master’s role is to guide people towards truth – not fantasy.
When the foundation of the story is imaginary or factually incorrect, it not only misguides but becomes a grave injustice to the truth.
Claiming Shiva as the first human is one such distortion.
Shiva is not a historical figure to be boxed into human form – Shiva is a Tattva – a cosmic principle.
As per scriptural authority, Shiva is:

Ajaya – The Unborn
Swayambhu – Self-manifested
Anadi – Without beginning or end
Shiva is eternal, formless, beyond life and death – a truth that cannot be diluted by narratives disconnected from scriptural wisdom.

Even Jaggi Vasudev Ji himself has stated he has never read the Vedas, Upanishads, or the Gita. Perhaps, had he studied them, such misstatements wouldn’t arise.

2. Have you seen internationals chanting Om Namah Shivay? 😅
- To suggest that people don’t chant Om Namah Shivaya worldwide is misinformed.
- ⁠Just watch ISKCON kirtans, attend Rudra pujas, or attend Art of Living’s global Vedic Pujas
- ⁠Over 20,000 Rudra Pujas are being performed and organised across the globe just in this Shravan month by Art of Living
- ⁠AOL has revived many Vedic Pathshalas, helping sustain and promote India’s sacred traditions worldwide.

3. Popularity – Digital vs On-Ground
Digital metrics and ad spends don't equate to ground-level spiritual depth. Jaggi Vasudev Ji was among the top digital ad spenders, spending ₹1.35 lakh daily on Facebook and Instagram. But true reach is measured on the ground –
Check how many spiritual courses, Rudra pujas, satsangs, and homas are happening daily across India and the world through Art of Living. The difference is clear – and popularity on digital media vs on-ground spiritual presence are worlds apart.
Events like AOL’s World Culture Festival in Washington DC, attended by millions, further reinforce this point.

4. Service Beyond PR
The Art of Living may not aggressively promote its service work, but the impact is undeniable:

Over 70 rivers revived, including one next to the Isha Centre

1,200+ free schools for underprivileged children

Massive tree plantation drives

Prison reforms, disaster relief, rural development and more

Interestingly, Jaggi Vasudev Ji critiqued this and launched Rally for Rivers, which created noise but had negligible on-ground impact. Fun fact : the river next to Isha centre in Coimbatore has been revived by Art of Living.

5. The Viji Controversy – A Silenced Issue
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar merely remarked that enlightenment has nothing to do with accessories like a ring – not mocking Mahasamadhi.
In fact, Viji’s parents themselves filed a case and raised serious allegations against Jaggi Vasudev Ji.
The matter was quietly buried, but if one is even slightly aware of current affairs, they’d know the depth of that controversy.

6. Echoes of Osho
Many of Jaggi Vasudev Ji’s discourses have been shown to be word-for-word echoes of Osho’s original talks.
A video even highlighted these similarities – which was later taken down after a complaint by Isha Foundation.
It’s intriguing that Osho’s organization has not yet taken cognizance of this.
Moreover, his former associates have repeatedly shared that his home used to be filled with Osho’s books, possibly revealing the source of his knowledge… which is not from any scriptures but Osho 🙂

In the end, just want to say - if someone is working for the Dharma it is appreciable. But if someone is distorting the dharma and creating fantasy stories and neglecting the precious wisdom of vedas, upanishads, gita etc. then it’s the job of a true spiritual master to guide the misguided!

Being with @Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for almost 15 years now, I can only say, that day in day out I have found Him to be a defender of righteousness and an embodiment of peace, harmony love and service. This is the very reason why people of every religion, nationality, language and age group look up to Him and get inspired by Him so they can exemplify the same values in their own lives.

@sadhguru Jaggi’s followers (like the recent video posted by @stringreveals) are trying to peg him along with Gurudev for some added traction over and above their huge paid promotions! But a heavy tantric tamasic energy is vastly different from a light sattvic joyful one and a comparison can only evoke compassion and amusement. Satyameva Jayate!

Let’s create awareness about the dangers of plastic. We should use it wisely and choose sustainable, natural products. If we all pledge to reuse or refuse plastic and cut our consumption in half, the world will be a better place.
