Former NFL star Chris Johnson announced his ALS diagnosis this week. His words capture something we hear from so many people living with ALS. He has been candid about how fast the disease has progressed and chose to go public hoping that sharing his story will help others get diagnosed sooner and inspire more research. As we honor Chris’s courage, we are hearing many questions about whether there is a connection between football and ALS.

A study that we funded provides evidence that suggests that @NFL athletes are at increased risk of ALS and that this risk may increase with more years of NFL exposure.
