A fascinating approach from Denmark, largely supported by producers, which is aimed at driving change but with significant financial support for those who engage to reduce carbon impact
We are keen to maintain the dialogue and break down any barriers about what is “right and wrong” with different farming systems. It is not binary. Vets particularly are ideally placed to have constructive discussions with fellow professionals involved with animal production
Oh the irony. @Guardian spend many column inches lambasting cattle for environmental impacts, yet bison are the new #carbon-sequestering superheroes.
"Grazing cattle's role in sequestering carbon and improving biodiversity" press release required? 🐄🐂

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 👥
Whilst working in the farming industry can be rewarding, we understand it can also be tough at times.
That’s why, this week, we wanted to share some useful resources from the @yellowwelliesuk 👉 https://t.co/gp5nOuM1xF

A balanced but challenging review from Lewis. We need to understand the role of methane in livestock agriculture, not as an excuse for ruminants but as an opportunity to have a relatively rapid and significant impact through animal health, welfare & breeding @Vet_Sustain @XLVets
Lungworm vaccinations 💉
It's not too early to start thinking about vaccinations. Vaccinating calves before turnout can help to build calf immunity & also help reduce the levels of pasture contaminated with lungworm larvae.

With the new TB hotspot being created in Eden Valley affecting many of our clients, we wanted to remind you all that @FCNcharity and @RABIcharity are available 24/7 for anyone struggling with the stress and anxiety caused by this 🌺 🤍
We’re so proud to share that not only have we achieved our Silver @iiEUK status, but we have also won the iiE Natural Environment Champion 2023 Award 🎉🙌
We are delighted to have been recognised by the iiE. It's taken a lot of hard work and dedication from our Green Group.
Instead of sending Christmas cards this year, we've made a donation to @RABINorthWest.
If you'd like to support RABI, why not join them for their Christmas Carol Service? Taking place this Wednesday (6th) at @HopesAuction, it's always a brilliant evening full of festive cheer 🎄

A cow caesarean in under one minute 🐄🩺
This heifer was carrying an embryo produced by the Paragon Advanced Breeding IVF team. The caesarean was successful, and a live calf was delivered, with both mum and calf doing well.
