Grateful for OHLegislators who are thoughtfully considering a wage increase for Direct Care Providers. While $18 per hour is a necessary step, we must continue working towards the ultimate target of $20 per hour for Direct Care Providers.
Heartfelt thanks to @lmcnallyytown & the House Finance HHS subcommittee members for their unwavering dedication in reviewing HCBS PASSPORT rates. Your hard work helps older adults get the care they deserve.
With a 24% increase in demand for direct care workers by 2030, Ohio needs to take action now to attract & retain direct care workers. Low wages are the biggest barrier. That’s why we are advocating for $20/hour. Read about the @alzassociation recent report https://t.co/M56xYKUK1C
Ohio is in desperate need of increase in reimbursement rate for home care programs to support the older adults & people with disabilities living in rural areas. Without a $20/hr wage older adults will not get the care they deserve.
We applaud @GovernorMikeDeWine for his proposals to help older adults stay in their homes & connected to their communities! Additional state funding for AAAs will eliminate waiting lists & help provide access to home-delivered meals, transportation, home modifications & more
DHEO received almost 70,000 masks from @OhioDeptOfAging and @GovMikeDeWine for low income senior and disabled individuals in our area! All to be used to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in Ohio!
Can you help with meal deliveries to older Ohioans? Providers need your help with:
1⃣ donations to provide more meals

#COVID19 tips for #seniors from @OHDeptOfHealth - 1: Stay at home as much as possible. Keep away from others who are sick. Limit contact and wash hands often. Avoid crowds and visit when few others are likely to be there. https://t.co/bh9GpkDc2f #Coronavirus
As part of Ohio's preparedness plan for #COVID19#coronavirus, we will be working with our community partners to identify and work with higher-risk older adults in their homes and communities as well as care facilities. https://t.co/ytMxVM6W84
➡️I've asked local aging advocates across #Ohio to go out into their communities to check on nursing care facilities to ensure that all illness prevention methods are in place. #COVID19 5/7
