Six of the biggest regrets athletes have later in life:
1. Not giving their best effort.
2. Not taking enough risks.
3. Not putting their team first.
4. Not enjoying the moment.
5. Not prioritizing their physical and mental health.
6. Not spending enough time with family.
Having talent is not enough
Having athleticism is not enough
Having mental strength is not enough
Having good technique is not enough
Having good tactics is not enough
To be the best, you need to be well rounded and have the whole package!
Great win tonight for the boys vs desert ridge to advance to the next round of playoffs. Couldn't be more proud of these boys! #dobsonpride#bettereveryday
The most important factor of an athlete’s performance is their mental game. With a strong mental game, an average athlete can play like a champion. With a weak mental game, a physically gifted athlete can play like a beginner.
If winning is all you care about, you’re more likely to give up in games when winning doesn’t seem possible. You’re also more likely to choke under pressure and avoid challenges. This is why you need to have additional motives such as love for the game and the desire to improve.
Mental skills, like physical skills, need to be trained consistently in order to improve. This is why you should incorporate mental exercises such as meditation, visualization, and reading into your daily training regimen.
Great game tonight for the boys with the 3-2 win over copper canyon. Andrew Sandoval pushin' 🅿️ with the hat-trick. #dobsonpride#BleedBlue#bettereveryday
