🚨🔵| Chelsea Should Not Sell Enzo Yet.
The City loss will probably restart the Enzo debate, but I still think selling him now would be a mistake.
Alonso wants his players rotating positions and responsibilities constantly. In that system, Enzo’s versatility becomes extremely valuable.
He can drop deep, dictate the tempo, progress the ball and still arrive in dangerous areas to contribute goals.
Wharton might offer slightly more defensive security, but would he give us Enzo’s quality in both roles?
And for the fee Palace would likely demand, I don’t think the upgrade is worth it.
With three centre-backs behind them, Enzo and Caicedo should also have more protection.
Bouaddi looks exciting, but he’s still very young. Inconsistency is inevitable.
The only alternative I’d seriously consider is Zubimendi. His ability to control games from No.6 alongside Caicedo could be excellent.
But even then, only if Enzo wants out.
Selling Enzo now also puts Chelsea in a terrible negotiating position. Everyone would know we have a huge transfer budget and urgently need a replacement.
Why give clubs that leverage?
Keep Enzo. Reassess at the end of the season.
We finally have a manager who looks capable of managing both a team and a full season. With Champions League qualification so important to our finances, we should be giving Alonso the strongest squad possible.
Would you keep Enzo for another season, or cash in now?
