1/2We are proud to announce that we have been chosen as one of the final 12 global solutions to the Refugee Crisis, at the The Conduit London, Refugee Summit 2024 in London.
Our founder and CEO @MahboobehMCR will present us on the 27th of February.
An incredible workshop, We Need to Keep This House, inspired by the powerful Peripheries exhibition at 1853 Studios ✨
This creative response became a continuation of my Made in Persia journey — exploring memory, identity, displacement, and resistance through poetry, video art, photography, objects, and performance.
The exhibition opened space for stories that deserve to be seen and heard, and this workshop allowed those conversations and artistic expressions to continue through collective creativity and reflection. ✨
Lovely food from Global Roots Café @DIPACTmcr led by Ruth’s Super Kitchen 🌍
It would not have been possible without the support of Arts Council England @ace_thenorth@ace_national 🙏

Since 2021, Made in Persia has been a journey of memory, womanhood, resistance, heritage, and survival.
Now begins the next phase: Sacred Survival. @DIPACTmcr
A new visual chapter exploring the weight we carry, the histories that shape us, and the power of continuing to exist, create, and speak through my Persian heritage, ancestors, and resistance.
Alongside this new phase, we’re also continuing conversations and one workshop this Friday @ 1853 Studios called ‘We Need to Keep This House’
Created by Mahboobeh Rajabi @mahboobeh.mcr
Photography & Videography by the incredible Melika Rafat
Very exciting things coming soon.

There’s something incredibly powerful about people coming together around empty canvases ✨
No expectations, no pressure — just expression, creativity, conversation, and the courage to make something together. 🎨
What I’m really loving about Global Roots Canvas is not only the incredible artists leading these spaces, but also how the project is connecting people to so many important creative spaces across Manchester & Greater Manchester — from galleries to studios, each with their own energy, history, and artistic voice.
It feels like a real celebration of global creativity, artistic exchange, and multicultural Manchester. 🌍✨
Thank you Arts Council England @ace_thenorth for making this happen.
A beautiful workshop with Mahrokh Mofidnakhaei at Islington Mill ✨
Shared expression, mark-making, creativity, and conversation — bringing together voices and perspectives from global backgrounds through art. 🎨
This is what Global Roots Canvas is about.
Thank you @ace_national

A reminder of the power of coming together. ✨
Surrounded by Kim Hubball’s exhibition, at 1853 Studios Oldham, working through Mahrokh’s paintings — cutting, layering, building stories through collage.
Different backgrounds, shared space, food, memory, art.
It was something special. 🌿🎨
