@LibertyAnders There has to be a balance. I don't hate women at all, but just like how all guys are capable of doing terrible things to women, the reverse is also true. At the end of the day, you just have to be careful. Trust but verify - and if your partner has a problem with that then ๐
@lukashi_sensie@esaagar Not sure if this was sarcasm/satire to mock lockdown rhetoric in 2020 (I'm assuming it is) or if this was a serious statement (pure stupidity).
@SussudioIntel@qdiddy22@opinionated75@benshapiro The high-risk who have the capacity to protect themselves by getting a vaccine we're told prevents the vaccinatees from getting serious outcomes like hospitalization and death? Those high-risk?
@nickromero23 I honestly think we need to get rid of every single health mandate/restriction that didn't exist prior to March 2020. There's no excuse now to be keeping any one of them.
@hopeful10_6 @Bitmap1337@benshapiro You do realize that the screenshot is from @OccupyDemocrats, right? So if anybody is lying about Maddow saying this, it's Occupy Democrats, not Ben Shapiro.
@Satakarnak@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro And you never proved 4theturnstyles' claim that zero COVID being the goal was a strawman argument. At this point, there is zero rฬถeฬถaฬถsฬถoฬถnฬถ excuse to keep any of the restrictions and mandates that did not exist until March 2020.
@Satakarnak@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro One million COVID deaths a year in the U.S.?? Come on dude, you know that's unrealistic too. That didn't happen last year, and now that a good chunk of us have been vaccinated against COVID, it's not gonna happen this year nor next.
@Satakarnak@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro We can recommend vaccines until we're blue in the face, but at the end of the day people should be able to make their own health choices and if they choose not to take the vaccine for whatever reason, they assume risk. Not up to us to pressure or bully them to take it.
@Satakarnak@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to accept death, from any cause. But this is not a perfect world, and zero death is unrealistic. Now that we have multiple vaccines that are widely available, it's up to us to protect ourselves, unlike last year when it was to protect others.
@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro It's not that I don't give a shit about others, it's that I don't demand that they make certain choices regarding their health if they don't want to. For example, I can't slap a cigarette out of your hand over my fear you'll get lung cancer. I can only recommend you stop smoking.
@Satakarnak@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro So if that's the reason, how is it a strawman to say that your new standard is zero COVID? Again, it begs the question of what exactly needs to happen before we lift the restrictions and mandates that did not exist two years ago.
@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro Keep in mind that most of the deaths are among the unvaccinated. For anyone who isn't vaccinated by now, that's on them. But I have been vaccinated, and I believe my vaccine works, so why should I give a shit if someone else isn't?
@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro Last year when people were protesting (prior to George Floyd) you guys insisted that we needed to get a vaccine available. Well, now just about everyone who's wanted to get vaccinated has been vaccinated (myself included).
@4theturnstyles@NileGardiner@benshapiro So then, what exactly needs to happen before you feel confident getting rid of every single restriction and mandate that did not exist in 2019?
