Fortunate to share a panel with fabulous colleagues talking about alternative voices, narratives, archives and histories [@DIYarchivist@ProfKFairclough@KatieMilestone Maria Ruban, John Lloyd] with the wisdom of @KarenGabay 2/2
Lucky to have a job with brilliant colleagues that allows us to creatively engage with research through music & sound, as part of our 'Intangible Sounds' programming with @mcrhistfest 2024. We had a brilliant day & evening on Saturday. *borrowed photo from Kirsty's Linkedin 1/2
I'm excited to lead the Alternative Manchester Voices roundtable on Saturday as part of @mcrhistfest
We have a great lineup of speakers including @KazGabay @SOSheaSNA @DIYarchivist, Maria Ruban, and John Lloyd.
We'll be discussing intersectional approaches to telling the underrepresented stories of minority gender and women’s contributions to Manchester music and their global impact. Other topics will include gender and Northern Soul, popular music and DIY archives, and overlaps between music, film, and fashion.
All are welcome!
