The D'Iberville Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Keith Roberts on being voted the Overall Favorite Staff Member at last week's Explorer Academy held at the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy.
This recognition is especially meaningful because it was voted on by the cadets themselves. Throughout the week, Officer Roberts dedicated his time to mentoring, teaching, encouraging, and leading young people who have an interest in law enforcement. His passion for serving others and investing in the next generation of police officers was evident to everyone in attendance.
Officer Roberts has always been a tremendous asset to our department, our schools, and our community. Whether he is serving as a School Resource Officer, mentoring youth, or representing the D'Iberville Police Department, he consistently goes above and beyond.
Congratulations, Officer Roberts, on this well-deserved honor. We are proud of the impact you continue to make on the lives of young people and proud to have you as part of the D'Iberville Police Department family.
Last week, the D'Iberville Police Department proudly sent four of our Police Explorer Cadets to the Explorer Academy held at the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy.
Throughout the week, these young men and women got a firsthand look at what it takes to become a police officer. From physical training and daily inspections to making their beds, marching, and learning the fundamentals of law enforcement, the cadets experienced many of the same challenges and expectations faced by recruits in a real police academy.
The week concluded with a competition that tested everything they had learned and accomplished during their training. Cadets attended from across Mississippi and throughout the country, creating an opportunity to build friendships, teamwork, and leadership skills that will last a lifetime.
Programs like the Police Explorers are invaluable. They give young people the chance to determine whether a career in law enforcement is right for them. Even if they choose a different path, they leave with a greater understanding and appreciation for the work police officers do every day and become strong supporters of the profession and their communities.
We are extremely proud of our four cadets for their hard work, dedication, and commitment throughout the week. The future is bright, and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.
The D'Iberville Police Department would like to take a moment to recognize the dedicated men and women of the D'Iberville Police Department, D'Iberville Fire Department, Harrison County Sheriff Department Dispatch and Public Works Department.
During recent severe weather and flooding conditions, our teams worked side by side to rescue citizens from flooded vehicles, closed unsafe roadways, cleared hazards, and helped keep our community safe. These efforts required teamwork, dedication, and a shared commitment to serving the people of D'Iberville.
What makes our city special is that we are more than coworkers, we are family. When our community needs us most, we come together as one team with one mission: protecting and serving the citizens of D'Iberville.
Thank you to every employee who answered the call, worked long hours, and put the safety of others before themselves. We are proud to serve alongside you.
Last night at the D'Iberville City Council meeting, Officer Denzel Moreno and Officer Liz Hill were honored with the Humanitarian Award for their compassionate actions on May 8, 2026, while responding to a homeless individual experiencing a mental health crisis.

For the past two days, the D'Iberville Police Department had the privilege of hosting the Leadership for Front-Line Supervisors Course at our department. We welcomed officers from Spanish Fort, Holly Springs, Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, and, of course, our own D'Iberville Police Department.
This training brought together dedicated law enforcement professionals who are committed to growing as leaders and strengthening their agencies. As first-line supervisors, these men and women play a critical role in guiding officers, mentoring the next generation, and ensuring their departments continue to serve their communities with professionalism and integrity.
Investing in leadership development is investing in the future of law enforcement. The officers who attended this course are the future leaders of policing, and we are proud to have provided a place where they could learn, share experiences, and build relationships that will benefit their agencies and communities for years to come.
Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the success of this training. Together, we are building stronger leaders and stronger departments. #DibervillePD #LeadershipInPolicing #FutureLeaders #ProfessionalDevelopment #ServingOurCommunity
