@OGw_w_wGO @pafemaron It would just be a smaller, weaker IED at that point, which is mostly solved. The effectiveness of FPV and Drop drones is they attack the weaker top armor or open hatches. If you’re limiting drones to low-angle ground attacks you’ve already defeated the problem.

@ScythianPG @SuitablePolitic The goal is to get NATO and the EU capable of handling Russia without US intervention, since US’s real focus since at least the Obama admin has been China. Trump’s heavy handed and crass with it, and could very easily fail, but the policy itself is generally sound.

@Batu_Meftun @clashreport Because for article 5 to be invoked every NATO member has to agree. Slovakia basically just said they’d kill any article 5 claim, and any attacked nation would be in their own to pursue support, either by treaty or agreement.

If a conflict were to break out it would take at least a month for Western Europe to get there, and 1-2 weeks for the Baltics to fight back with anything other than the 40,000 they have.

@MonsieurChiffre @AnalyticaCamil1 Probably because those are all reservists that would take weeks to equip, retrain, and deploy. The three have a combined active military of like 40,000. The Poles are the only real fighting force in the area.

@bigseb31213 I’m doubtful that there will be anything, but if there is it’s more likely to be a very limited probing attack to gauge NATO/EU willingness rather than a full invasion.

@PatriotPressUS @Albrochier It’s more likely to be a probing attack to see how far they can push before article 5. It’s also possible the US will veto an Article 5 claim altogether and force the EU to respond, because the current US military strategy is focused on preempting war with China.

@Albrochier Realistically If the US doesn’t want to waste its men and materiel on a weak Russia for a EU that’s shown its not a willing or capable military partner, it comes down to just French and UK nukes. US might prioritize Chinese readiness over European intervention.
