Hate to disappoint you, but I think it's the opposite. The years when everyone tried to emulate Guardiola's style made for really entertaining, high-scoring football.

What we're now seeing is the backlash against that Guardiola style — less possession football, more direct stuff, increased set-piece focus, long throws, interminable stoppage — and it's a tough watch
