This morning our TK-G5 students had an assembly of the Mobile Dairy Classroom presented by the Dairy Council of California. The students were fully engaged and learned a lot from our guest speaker. They also had an opportunity to meet Buttercup - the cow and Bruno - the calf.

Vivaan Vaid, a fifth grade student, was featured in abc News for giving out 350 holiday greeting cards to senior citizens in our community. Vivaan demonstrated the values of compassion and kindness.

We had a special ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating Achyuth's Sunshine Playground. We are grateful for the generosity and support of many donors, Sedgwick PTA and CUSD staff to make Achyuth's dream come true. The playground will be enjoyed by generations of Sedgwick students!
Our fifth grade students kicked off the Game Design Project this week. In the next few weeks the students will work diligently with their group partners. Each group will create either a cardboard game or a video game. A Family Game Night will be coming soon.
Our fifth grade students partnered with the Future Business Leaders Association(FBLA) at Cupertino High School and held a market place at Sedgwick in December 2019. Our students raised $835.90 toward science camp this year. Good job fifth grade students!

36 students from grades 1-5 submitted their creative artwork to participate in the cultural exchange program with Cupertino's sister city - Toyokawa, Japan. Their artwork will be displayed in Toyokawa's community center later this year. Congratulations, Dolphins!
Today our K-5 students enjoyed a presentation from former NASA astronaut Steve Smith. Mr. Smith has participated in 4 space flights and 7 space walks. We learned a lot about the life of an astronaut and the training required to become an astronaut. Thanks PTA for the assembly!
Lunch on the Lawn was a great success. Families enjoyed lunch time with the students and got to mingle with other families and friends. Thank you families for supporting the event!
Sharkie from the San Jose Sharks visited Mrs. Rodriguez's 5th grade class this morning. They are signed-up for the San Jose Sharks Reading is FUN program. Way to go Room 26!
