By the way, after we missed our connection we had to go to the baggage claim office to see about our bags. Lady at the desk doesn't look up from her phone for the firs 3 minutes of the conversation. When she finally vaguely pays attention, she says the bags made the flight we missed (somehow) and so there's nothing she can do. We have to call the 800 number. We call the 800 number on our drive and they tell us that actually our bags were at the airport we just left. The lady at the desk didn't actually check. The service at these airports is so unfathomably shitty. You're paying top dollar to be treated like dirt by employees who can't even pretend to care at all.

@TraviXai you should read Earth in the Beginning by Eric Skousen. He’s a religious scholar in the church, and addresses this very topic. He uses scriptures and histories from the prophets.

If Jesus is the savior of every world, do they then have, know and study our history but we don’t know anything of theirs? Do they have our scriptures because they need to learn about that part of the plan of salvation, atonement, resurrection, etc. that only happened here on our world? Would it not make any sense to them? The scriptures are a history of what happened here so they don’t need to know about our prophets do they? We don’t learn of theirs. Do they learn about this world’s apostasy after Christ and his apostles(who are the apostles of this world) and then there is a restoration on to their world? I don’t get it.

A record number of people are joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Last year, over 308,000 people joined the Church.

This is an increase of about 50,000 from the previous year… and the highest number of converts in a quarter century.

In fact, convert baptisms were higher than in any 12 month period in Church history between June of last year and May of this year.

The numbers were shared by Elder @CookQuentinL of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles last month at the Provo Missionary Training Center.

He said as exciting as this increase in baptisms is, “we’re delighted to learn that the increase for new members attending sacrament meeting was even higher.”

Elder Cook pointed to the Lord and said He is the reason.

Elder Cook also said when missionaries understand and continually apply the missionary purpose — “we see miracles in the Lord’s work.”
