@kaifuaudio From what I understand, the high shelf is there so the highs are not underrepresented in the measurement compared to what the ear perceives, while the LPF prevents lows from overpowering the rest of the spectrum in the measurement.

@lilbadsnacks I had a neurodivergent kid in a workshop I gave that used to make the most incredible, densely packed rhythms I've ever heard on single clips. Like listening to 6 parts running wild at the same time, but somehow having them all make sense. I loved it!

Not trying to dunk, just making a point that’s commonly missed: artists don’t know how to do this, and this is a prime example of why brilliant engineers don’t always make good product people: you don’t know what artists want or need and cannot imagine it.

@Komaniecki_R And on the aural training side, the mechanics of the instrument make it so the sound doesn't really feel like it comes from you, so it's hard to internalize, and teaching scales as fretboard positions creates a mechanized learning without the related aural understanding.

@Komaniecki_R I think some instruments make internalizing aural skills and sight reading much harder. My guitar teacher helped me a ton with sight reading, and he first explained it like "it's as if you gave a pianist 6 stacked pianos, offset them, and asked them to sight read on that" 1/2
