The law is clear.
“Referendum advertising” means the transmission to the public, by any means during the referendum advertising period, of an advertising message that promotes or opposes a referendum question.
Forever Canadian and Thomas Lukaszuk are running a coordinated public campaign involving a provincewide bus tour, signs, canvassing, rallies, advertising, supporter recruitment and efforts to mobilize Albertans to vote to remain in Canada.
That is not simply private political expression. It is an organized referendum advertising promoting one side of the October vote.
Elections Alberta has a duty to enforce the same rules for both sides.
Democracy depends not only on fair laws, but on public confidence that election officials will administer those laws impartially. Once that confidence is lost, the legitimacy of the entire democratic process is put at risk.
This store manager position at a well-established national retailer in Prince Rupert offers $42.00 per hour. The posting indicates the employer is seeking a temporary foreign worker for the role rather than filling it locally.
One might wonder what specific recruitment efforts were undertaken to reach Canadian candidates in the area before pursuing the LMIA route. It is also unclear what unique qualifications are required that could not be met by local applicants in a region with an established retail presence.
Share this position with any Canadians you know who might be qualified for retail management work, and consider posting it in relevant community groups on Facebook or X to help connect local applicants with the opportunity.
Repost to help more Canadians see this.

Islamic terrorists in NIgeria just kidnapped the wife of Pastor Moses Guguma - and their three young children.
You won't hear about any of this from mainstream media because the widespread persecution and slaughter of Christians by Islamists is a subject they will not touch.
If the public can identify governance and accountability concerns by reading the City of Calgary’s publicly available reports, why can’t #yyccc?
Council has the authority to hold Administration accountable, yet the outgoing CAO is even involved in recruiting a successor.

Alberta law defines “referendum advertising” as a public advertising message that promotes or opposes a referendum question.
Forever Canadian’s bus tour, signs, canvassing, events and stated campaign to persuade Albertans to vote to remain in Canada fit that definition.
The evidence deserves consistent enforcement by @ElectionsAB.
🏘️ FOUR UNITS, OR THREE?
Today Council chose four. It failed by one vote.
These homes aren't affordable. The market is slowing. And we keep propping it up anyway.
Reducing R-CG density from 75 units per hectare to 60 would have taken a typical lot from 4 units by right down to 3.
Result: DEFEATED 6–7:
For (6) — Ward, Jamieson, Tyers, Wyness, Johnston, McLean
Against (7) — Yule, Pantazopoulos, Clark, Atkinson, Kelly, Chabot, Schmidt
Absent (2) — Dhaliwal, Mayor Farkas
Why I voted for it:
For two years residents have told this Council the same things; building scale, privacy, overshadowing, mature trees lost. Four units on a lot built for one is what drives that. Three is still real density.
The case against it was that 60 UPH makes rowhouses "nonviable." Read that word carefully. It doesn't mean unbuildable. It means a smaller financial return per lot.
Three units instead of four was defeated because four pays better. That's a builder's consideration. It shouldn't outweigh the people who live on the street.

@TBS_Canada: “The Public Service Employment Act gives preference to eligible veterans first, then Canadian citizens and permanent residents for all external advertised appointments provided that merit is met.”
Jobless rates for Canadian students increased after 2023 order allowing 1,040,985 foreign students unlimited access to the workforce.
No comment by @MarkJCarney as feds confirm he misled public on @GordieHoweBrg concessions. It's improbable Carney the 'very smart banker' didn't know he lied, @ShuvMajumdar tells reporters.

The campaign office for "not a campaign", according to @ElectionsAB.
Elections Alberta is corrupt to the core... I don't see how Albertans can be expected to trust them with our democracy.
After being asked by the City to not to share these due to having to answer questions from the public.... I will now be sharing every email the city sends out to me regarding "Media Advisories" going forward.
Advisory regarding the Bearspaw South Feeder Main replacement project.
Tomorrow, City crews will provide a construction update and take questions from the Media at the Stage B work area, highlighting the work underway to strengthen Calgary’s critical water infrastructure and improve long-term system reliability.
