Top prospect Bryce Eldridge sits for a SECOND consecutive day after hitting his first big league home run for a team that is 8 games below .500. You cannot emphasize the level of stupidity involved with this decision making. Go win a game.
Duane Kuiper on the Giants outfielders struggling at the plate:
“There’s some at bats that are concerning, including Jung Hoo Lee… Harrison Bader is a mystery. That whole outfield has to get a lot better offensively. They definitely have to get it going, otherwise you’re going to start hearing talks about putting Bryce Eldridge in the outfield.”

Deni Avdija says he’s fed up with the hate he receives for being from Israel, calls out the lack of education on the topic, and demands respect, saying those outside the Middle East shouldn’t speak on it
“You don’t have to love what I stand for or how I look, but if I’m a good player, give props. All this hate … for no reason. Like, I’m deciding things in the world. I’ll be honest: What do people expect me to do? This is my country, where I was born, where I grew up. I love my country; there are a lot of great things about my country. But obviously, not everyone is educated and knows what is going on, and that’s what pisses me off. Because if you are educated and know what is going on, it’s fine to say what you think and say who you think is right or wrong. But if you are not educated and you are not part of the Middle East, and you don’t understand how long this goes back and understand the consequences and everything … just don’t say anything.”

I’ve said this many times I want a QB that believes in what he sees, trusts his guys & isn’t afraid to let it rip… never worried about consequences in those situations!
Many different thoughts about Brock Purdy but this is what he does! This is what makes him different & a winner!
Yes he threw 2 INTs last week… THEY WON!!
Ppl who simply look at TDs to INTs as a definitive tell on a QB are missing the point of position IMO! It’s lazy! You have to watch each play, ask why he made that throw, what happened on play & most importantly you have to weigh against the number of WINNING plays that QB makes in a game!
It’s the reason why we miss on so many QBs IMO: we think MEASURABLES & TD/INT tell the story, while I think too often those two things tell the WRONG story!!
On his first day in office, Zohran Mamdani cancelled the use of the antisemitism definition from the International Holocaust Remembeance Alliance and lifted a rule prohibiting city agencies from discriminating against Israelis.
Neither of these protections for Jews and Israelis are meant to hamper free speech. They just work against one of the major ways antisemitism manifests today, which is through extreme anti-Israel sentiment that thinly masks overt anti-Jewish hate.
How will rolling these measures back help with Mamdani’s stated goal of stamping out skyrocketing antisemitism in NYC?

SPOILERS: So beware.
There was something quietly beautiful, and a little bittersweet, about that scene with the four kids on the roof, promising they’d meet there every year. Watching it now, older and with a bit more life behind me, I felt the weight of those good intentions. You can almost see the future unfolding... they’ll meet a couple of times, maybe even a few, and then life will start to pull them in different directions. People grow up, fall in love, move away, disappear, or simply drift. That’s just how life works.
But tucked inside that sadness is a soft reminder: be here now. Be present.
Love the people who are in your life today.
Appreciate your friends, your family, the small moments that feel ordinary but aren’t.
Nothing stays the same forever, which is exactly why every day—and every person we care about—is worth holding close while we can.
My new year's observation.
Kyle Brandt on Christian McCaffrey:
“This is the season Christian McCaffrey became a legend. Because when all of the players around him were getting hurt, they just fed him and fed him and he carried this team through a backup quarterback, backup receivers, backup tight ends. He is a stalwart, he is Mr. Dependable, and he is someone we should not take for granted what he is doing. It is not normal. It is historic, it is special. He has always been a great player, but this year he became a legend.”
