Excellent paper by some researchers at Peking University and Duke University on the consequences of EIP 1559. Particularly appreciate the confirmation that EIP 1559 has greatly decreased average waiting times for transactions.

My favorite thing about arguments against vaccine passports is that they usually work even better verbatim as arguments against regular passports. Seriously, look at these maps. This is unfair apartheid and we should be resisting it more.
Poll for Ethereum community. You wake up in 2035, and 80% of all transactions + savings in the world are in one currency that is not ETH. Which would you prefer it to be?

What are the craziest and most unhinged criticisms of me you've seen on twitter or elsewhere? Here are a few good ones, I wonder what else people have seen that I haven't!

I updated some important bits today, and of course it will get updated further as new spec details (eg. new sharding https://t.co/QqtkhUooRK ; PBS https://t.co/XIwtjvptPL ) come into play!
Has anyone noticed how at least among some communities Japanese seems to be slowly replacing Latin as the go-to "cool language" for names and slogans?
(random example: Ethereum's recent Kintsugi testnet; I was *not* involved in naming that)
@moxie Responded!
I think the status quo comes from a present-day "missing middle" where we have centralized-but-easy things and decentralized-but-hard things, but new tech (w lots of cryptography!) actually is on the cusp of giving us the best of both worlds.

My argument for why the future will be *multi-chain*, but it will not be *cross-chain*: there are fundamental limits to the security of bridges that hop across multiple "zones of sovereignty". From https://t.co/3g1GUvuA3A:
Note that cross-rollup apps within one zone of sovereignty are still fine. Not also that this also is a limit to the "modular blockchains" vision: you can't just pick and choose a separate data layer and security layer. Your data layer must be your security layer.
I believe, it’s not the trophies, the numbers or the things I have accomplished as a baseball player, but the legacy. And this is my legacy. This is what I want to leave behind. Education and opportunities. Open doors for all who want to enter. https://t.co/ACh7sRI5e7
The work of our time is to prepare ourselves to be competitive — and to win — in the fast-changing 21st century global economy.
That’s why we need the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal and my Build Back Better Agenda.
