Today the EU delivered cranes, ambulances & safe phones to the Lebanon Mine Action Center @LebMineAction. We continue to help Lebanon deal with the remnants of war and protect civilians. In this difficult context, more support will come.

I met with the Ambassadors of Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands to discuss Lebanon’s ongoing emergency response and the priorities ahead.
We exchanged on the current ceasefire, the situation on the ground, and the need to sustain a coordinated response that reaches displaced families and the most vulnerable communities across the country. We also discussed the Flash Appeal and the importance of predictable, timely support to keep essential services running.
As we work to stabilize the response, Lebanon’s recovery needs are becoming clearer by the day. Supporting national systems and local institutions is critical to protect people now and to lay the foundations for a more resilient recovery.
Thank you to the Ambassadors and their governments for their continued engagement and solidarity with Lebanon.
I welcome the announced 10 day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, mediated by President Trump.
This is a relief, as this conflict has already claimed far too many lives.
Now, we need not just a temporary pause, but a path to permanent peace.
Europe will continue to call for the full respect of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
And we will keep supporting the Lebanese people through substantial humanitarian aid.
On World Water Day, we highlight Syria’s worst drought in 40+ years. Water scarcity threatens livelihoods, food security & resilience. Rural women are among the hardest hit. 🇩🇰 is proud to support long-term water solutions through our partners.

The situation in Lebanon is appalling - with already more than 1.3 million internally displaced persons.
I spoke with President Aoun to express the EU’s condolences for the loss of civilian lives and our solidarity and support for Lebanon and its people.
Lebanon made the right decision to ban Hezbollah’s military activities. Hezbollah must cease its attacks immediately. Israel should stop its military operations and engage in direct talks with the Lebanese authorities.
All parties must respect international law and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
More than 600,000 people are currently displaced by the conflict in Lebanon. Today, the first humanitarian flight landed in Beirut. The EU brought in 45 tons of emergency supplies from @eu_echo & @UNICEFLebanon to support those affected by the conflict.

FM @larsloekke: “DK has decided to disburse all planned funding to UNRWA early this year - over €14m. UNRWA is an indispensable lifeline for Palestinians in Gaza & the region. Continued support is essential especially with UNRWA under intense pressure. Urge more to follow.”
Very happy that 🇩🇰 will reopen our Embassy in Damascus later in 2026 and be among the first movers on this in the EU. Will be a big step in taking the already strong bilateral relationship between 🇩🇰 and #Syria even further.

FN’s Sikkerhedsråd har netop besøgt Syrien for første gang bl.a. på Danmarks initiativ. Rejsen fandt sted kun få dage efter udenrigsministerens besøg. Desuden kort før årsdag for Assads fald. Vigtigt signal fra Rådet om støtte til en inklusiv politisk transitionsproces i Syrien.
FM @larsloekke: “Important meeting w/ Syrian FM colleague al-Shaibani. We agreed to strengthen our relationship. A more stable Syria in our common interest. We will work together on moving forward with trade, investments and return of more Syrian refugees from DK and Europe.”
Good to see the support that is provided by local CSOs and @UNICEFLebanon to Makani centres in Tripoli, ensuring children and youth safe spaces to learn, play and heal.
Together with Embassy representatives from Finland 🇫🇮, Norway 🇳🇴, Sweden 🇸🇪 and Denmark 🇩🇰, we visited Makani centres in the North, where children and youth find safe spaces to learn, play and heal.
Through education, child protection and psychosocial support services, we’re ensuring that #EveryChild stays supported and connected to their community.
Thanks to our partners for standing with the children in #Lebanon and helping them learn and thrive.
#ForEveryChild, a safe space. 💙
