@WillSloanEsq I’m currently watching an illegal copy of O Brother because I couldn’t remember which discfolio my copy’s in, and didn’t feel like looking.
@xenocryptsite In the 2006 film adaptation Bryce Dallas Howard breaks the fourth wall to deliver the epilogue speech on the way to her trailer. IIRC this gives an extra wink to the “if I were a woman” line.
@xenocryptsite I can’t speak for drag queens, but I can’t imagine many were upset that Baranski got the role. It’s probably an exception like the fact that Jewish actors can play Italian, and vice versa.
@DigiRanger1994@CharlesLeFerg@jayspectrumX Even funnier that I’m pretty sure those are character actors they planned to use as her dads, but then Glee blew up and Fox was like “Fuck it, we can get Goldblum!”
@GentleDoofus Nolan’s hold on the normies is fascinating to me. Inception was supposed to be a “blank check” movie that WB agreed to so he’d keep directing Batman, and it made a mint. His movies are crazy on paper, but just make money. Tenet is an exception, but with a big covid asterisk.
@pants@mflemster Nah, just unlucky. I’ve seen some people recommend trying to keep a tree between you and the bison, which you see him doing, but not sure these trees were big enough for that.
@lovechazelle I’ve never liked it tbh. It can’t decide whether it wants to be hard sci-fi, or soft, and that fundamentally bothers me too much to enjoy the admittedly incredible visuals.
