Today Abantika Parasor, District Museum Officer, Jorhat successfully acquired 21 Burmese coins(9 intact and 13 broken) from Sri Jitu Dutta, Sundarpur, Sivasagar, which were accidentally discovered in his paddy field. This is the first official discovery of Burmese coins in hoard

In a formal ceremony in Kurirpar village,Dhubri, Sri Karen Chandra Roy, visual artist, aged 85, was felicitated by the Directorate of Museums for his lifelong creation of oil paintings. Also, 9 paintings were donated by the artist to the Assam State Museum today

On 21st August on behalf of Assam State Museum, District Musuem Officer, Jorhat Abantika Parashar collected 15 nos.of Silver coins belongs to Mughal, Ahom and Jayantia rulers as accidental finding from Dhalpur of Lakhimpur district.
