Scottish Parliament doesn’t use first past the post.
It uses STV which gives better proportional representation. It’s meant to be impossible for an outright majority so there is always comprise.

@theweeflea @54Lamb The SNP won, it’s as simple as that. They get to implement their manifesto. If that is a problem for unionist parties all they need to do is band together and form a single party. Then they can slap on a manifesto to end Holyrood and devolution. I would love to see them try

Part of their manifesto is to campaign for independence. It really is that simple.
If any of the other parties want to stop that; win seats and form a majority government.
