@HyveMynd @koboldwizard Agreed, I once had a DM who used to vocally declare that they were our god. In-between the beatings. It was clearly a power trip and very unrewarding for the players. Suffice it to say, now I’m a DM I don’t do that! I consider myself more of a referee/narrator/fanboy of my PCs.

Many podcasts have come and gone from my life, but #criticalrole has been the only permanent one. Yes I’ve ‘borrowed’ many DMing techniques from @matthewmercer, but more importantly, I’ve learned that it’s the shared storytelling and fun with friends that’s most important. #DnD

All of this surreal happening around Critical Role has been such strange happenstance, and we are continuously taken aback. There was no “grand plan”, or engineered intent. We were asked to flail like we do at home on camera and see if it sticks. :)

@Wizards_DnD I’ve got a multi-page folder containing my homemade notes on personalised character arcs, favourite shops and locations. For each session I use a double sided sheet of A4: one side is planning notes and the other side is a recap I do after the session! Is this too organised? 😬

I’ve found prepping for my sessions a lot easier thanks to both @SlyFlourish #lazydungeonmaster books. Here’s my template I use for each session - I’ve tweaked it over time to suit my DMing style best and remind me of the important things to remember! #DnD #DungeonsandDragons
