@MyDivaDachshund@lippyent I had a neighbor who gave mustard to calves when they had the scours. I've never thought to try it when I have diarrhea, maybe next time.
I'm very excited to bring this to you!
There is no Cardinals baseball tonight. There is nothing but reruns on TV. So sit back and enjoy one of the best things you will ever see on Stan Musial.

#OTD 1940 - The Cardinals play their first night game at home, losing to Brooklyn, 10-1, despite Joe Medwick's 5-for-5 performance that included three doubles.
The honor of hosting the first night game in St. Louis?
That took place on May 24 - by the Browns.

@BBGreatMoments The NBA had to suspend him for gambling but they couldn't do that to their poster boy, so he took up another hobby until they struck, the NBA couldn't have him crossing the picket line so he miraculously decided to return to basketball.
#OTD 1959 - After a game between the Pirates and Cardinals, Stan Musial visits the Honus Wagner statue outside of Forbes Field.
Earlier, in the game, Stan had broke Wagner's career doubles record, and Stan wanted to pay homage to "The Flying Dutchman".

From the "Are You Kidding Me?" files.
On September 12, 1967 - Bob Gibson began a streak of pitching at least six innings in every start that lasted until May 2, 1970 - a span of 78 starts in total.

#OTD 2023 - John Glenn (not that John Glenn π) died at the age of 94 in Delran, NJ.
Glenn broke in as a rookie with the Cardinals in 1960 at the age of 31.
He played 31 games that season and never played another game in MLB.

#OTD 1932 - The Cardinals sell "problem child" Flint Rhem to the Phillies.
In 1930, Rhem disappeared on the eve of a huge series with Brooklyn.
The next day he claimed gamblers, who had bet money on Brooklyn, kidnapped him.
He also claimed he was held captive in a hotel room and forced to drink large amounts of bootleg whiskey. π€£
(The Cardinals would buy him back, then sell him, then buy him back yet again, and then finally cut him for good!)

Man do I miss this legend.
"Foul ball! Oh and it lands right in that ladyβs bushβ¦ (long pause)β¦ And by Busch, of course, Iβm referring to her ice cold beer. That sounds pretty good right about now" - Mike Shannon
#OTD 1980 - Jim Kaat, recently traded from the Yankees, goes the distance when the Cardinals pitcher blanks the Mets in 10 innings, 1-0.
The 41-year-old hurler, who didn't start a game last season, gets the victory thanks to third baseman Ken Reitz's extra-inning solo home run.
