My Magnum Opus. Funny to see it out there in the world after spending so much time seeing it only in my head.

Very proud of this work and very grateful to @NeuroPolarbear and @_janzimmermann_ for empowering me to pursue this work and for helping me tie off my PhD this way!

@NeuroPolarbear Remember, remember the 5th of November; the gun powder treason and plot. I know of no reason the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

Dr. Maisson, at long last. The culmination of a lot of work, effort, commitment, and patience (mostly on the part of @Toni4ka13)

Thank you!

Booting a car is an iconicly passive aggressive...you're booting it cuz they are parked where they shouldn't be, but now that can't fix that cuz they're booted. Gloriously petty, and I'm here for it

[David J-N Maisson @DMaisson]

@NeuroPolarbear @ElDuvelle @_janzimmermann_ very happy to take questions of any kind. Also, planning to talk about this work at an SfN minisymposium I'll be chairing on the final day of the conference. All should feel free to come find me there!

[David J-N Maisson @DMaisson]

@KenjiEricLee @NeuroPolarbear @_janzimmermann_ me = 😮‍💨then😳+🥹+😅, and finally 🥳

I agree with pretty much everything here. Conferences CAN be in relatively cheap locations, with University dorms available for housing, with strong COVID precautions & promise to house you free if you get stuck due to COVID, etc. We've done that at #RLDM. /1

I feel I've seen this sorta thing at the zoo...or national geographic...or a lab colony

[Oded Rechavi @OdedRechavi]

It's more of a comment than a question

[David J-N Maisson @DMaisson]

@OdedRechavi Lol! Can you do a juxtaposition with one for "careers in science as actually happened for Nobel laureates"?

To be clear, women should NOT be required to do anything with their bodies by anyone. Strictly speaking, Jewish law also simply allows for elective abortions at any time. My real point was just that forced birth is a violation of the first ammendment.

[David J-N Maisson @DMaisson]

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" - the first fucking "commandmant" in ur precious constitution! In Jewish law, women endangered by a pregnancy are REQUIRED to abort. Forced birth is unconstitutional.

A 10 year old was shot and killed attempting to call her father to send help and save the lives of her friends, all children. Children are dead because a sick person had access to a gun. So, let's make sure we make them easier to get? Fuck this country.

How should we understand the brain? What are good categories to study it, things like "perception", "cognition", "emotion"?
Paul Cisek nails it!

We just posted the first ever preprint from the lab, so it's tweetprint time!

Here, we asked a question that turned out to be a pretty interesting one: what is the representational geometry of value? https://t.co/WXzowVLMy1
