I need guidance on iPads in K classrooms. I’m the “tech” person for my school, but not fluent with iPads. Any advice? How do I hook them all up to be the same and push out apps? How can teachers monitor and use them efficiently? #edtech@ericcurts@jmattmiller@drjervin#iPad
Ever learn SO many new amazing things that you’d like to try in your classroom...only to sit there overwhelmed and forget half the things you’ve learned?! I think I need to read #LearnLAP 20 more times. Thanks @PaulSolarz for pushing us to be better! #wcak12@drjervin
@jmattmiller if I’m having kids use an iPad to film some of their projects what’s the best way to “edit” those if we have mostly chromebooks for each student. Kids will be sharing the iPads for videoing purposes and loading them to their Drive...I think?? Help!
I have a former colleague that refused to lower her standards for students who were “low”. She had high standards and those kids rose up year after year.
Differentiation is not about assigning different levels of work to the variety of learning levels in a class. Differentiation is all about support. The students that need the most of their Teacher gets the most of their Teacher. Not lower level work! Keep the expectations high!
Loving our creative Rubber Band Roadsters! Students are using their knowledge of force and motion to create THE BEST roadster! #wcak12#STEM#5th#lovemyjob
Finally getting around to listening to #EduDuctTape podcast and I’m obssessed! So many awesome tech tools that I’m a little overwhelmed! @JakeMillerTech @jmattmiller#DitchBook@edpuzzle#wcak12@mbwilk I want to do ALL THE THINGS!!
Google Classroom is POWERFUL when the teacher is absent.
Write sub plans and post them in Classroom from your bed in your PJs.
Check in on students throughout the day. (If you want.)
Make changes on the fly. Almost like you're there! #DitchBook#googleclassroom#gttribe
@drjervin@ericcurts@hharmon04 The teacher’s don’t want a cart. They’d like something either mounted on the wall or can be put on a counter. The iPads are the standard 9.5 iPad and they have a large foam case that adds another few inches.
This article kind of hits the nail on the head for me. We need to be accountable, but not so stuck on standards that we miss all the awesome learning that can go on in a classroom! #WCAK12@PearDeck
Cozy up with a good read this weekend and catch up on the latest Pear Deck blog post. Our Chief Educator, Michal, shares some ideas on how to inspire students while sticking to standards: https://t.co/RGZ2uvIW9J
@MrsHummel24 Jennifer Nielsen has some great choices - A Night Divided is about how a family was torn apart when the Berlin Wall was built. The Resistance is about a Jewish girl who is fighting to help her people during WW2. #5thgrade
