Day 369 of quarantine: I’m starting to doubt Track exists at all. It was likely a myth my coach started to get me to train. I’m running out of chocolate milk. Help.
Now’s the perfect time to train and build up. Whether you’re training for a fast PR during cross country season or being able to run to the front of the Porta Potty line at meets, go for it.
ESPN’s Max Kellerman says track is not a sport and you only get into it because you’re a failure of an athlete and not tough enough...dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
That’s BS. You said track and field was made up of athletes who failed in other sports, and implied they were skill-less. 100% trying to cover his ass. Maybe learn a thing or two about race strategy, or how difficult the sport actually is before you talk poorly about it.
@tibartoletta @ShaunHazey Track and field is filled with great athletes. My point was that financial incentive creates a hierarchy in sports, so that GENERALLY speaking those who can play in the NBA & NFL do so (though obv bball selects out for height, & football’s violence is a deterrent for many)
