Mingo has been a huge impact for the Nittany Lions. He has been putting up averages of 14PTS, 3.4REB, 4.3AST and 2.3STL. Also having splits of 50/30/69.
-
Mingo is 6’3 195lbs with a solid frame. Mingo is a skilled playmaker who has a great feel for the game. He has a great feel on lobs but also has a great feel in transition.
-
One of the best traits of Mingo is his downhill attacking. He is so talented at getting downhill and finishing at the rim. He also does a good job at drawing contact and finishing over the trees. At 133 attempts at the rim Mingo has finished 81 of those. He has an incredible array of moves to make space around the rim too. Paired with an elite handle and a good burst of speed he can get to any spot he needs.
-
Mingo isn’t the most impressive shooter but he definitely has potential to become a good shooter. On the bright side Mingo has a ton of time left to where he can continue to develop that aspect of his game.
-
He has good tools defensively and is able to guard 1-3 or so. Quick hands and good lateral quickness as well.

Overall I love watching Kayden Mingo playing. I’m excited to watch his development of not just him but also his brother Dylan Mingo who recently committed to North Carolina and Hubert Davis.

Since his early years Dylan Mingo has been skilled and savvy. He combines length, high level positional size, production, defense, and a scoring skill set.
With positional size he has demonstrated the cleverness, and IQ to navigate a ball screen by feeling his man, reading the coverage, and locating the help.
Mingo is the second commitment for Hubert Davis in North Carolina’s 2026 recruiting class, joining SC Next 100 forward Maximo Adams (No. 25)

“I felt like now was the right time,” Mingo told ESPN. “And what made it the right time for the decision is seeing Caleb Wilson and Seth Trimble wear the North Carolina blue on their chest with so much pride. It shows the true culture they have there.” @UNC_Basketball
