The method which I found effective for doing UWORLD and REAL EXAM QUESTION is:
Read the Last Line:
Begin by reading the last line of the question stem, which often contains the actual question being asked. This helps you understand the primary focus of the question.
Skim the Answer Choices:
After understanding the question, quickly scan through the answer choices to get an overview of the possible options. This helps you identify the relevant systems or topics being tested.
Read the Question Stem:
With an idea of what the question is asking and the potential answer choices, go back and read the entire question stem. Pay attention to important details such as symptoms, demographics, and any clinical vignettes provided.
Highlight Key Points:
Highlight or mentally note important points related to the options and question stem. Focus on details that are directly relevant to the question being asked.
Eliminate Incorrect Answers:
Evaluate each answer choice, eliminating options that are inconsistent with the information provided or are less likely based on your understanding. Use a systematic approach to narrow down your choices.
Choose the Best Answer:
Select the answer choice that aligns most closely with your understanding of the topic and best fits the question stem. Trust your clinical reasoning and knowledge.
Starting with the last line allows you to quickly grasp the main question, which can guide your reading of the rest of the stem. It helps streamline the process and ensures that you stay focused on addressing the specific inquiry presented in the question.
