CamDiag: Building AI-Powered Diagnostic Support for Cameroon and Africa
NDN Analytics is proud to introduce CamDiag, an AI-powered medical diagnostic assistant designed to improve healthcare access for people in Cameroon and across Africa.
In many communities, especially rural and underserved areas, patients face serious barriers before they can receive timely medical support. Long travel distances, limited access to specialists, high consultation costs, delayed test interpretation, and fragmented patient records all contribute to slower diagnosis and poorer outcomes.
CamDiag was created to help address this gap.
The platform supports healthcare workers, patients, clinics, pharmacies, and community health teams with AI-assisted clinical decision support. Key capabilities include medical image analysis, lab result interpretation, drug interaction checking, bilingual English/French support, patient history tracking, and nearby healthcare facility discovery.
CamDiag is not designed to replace doctors or licensed medical professionals. It is designed to strengthen frontline care by giving users faster access to intelligent diagnostic support, especially in environments where specialist care may be limited or delayed.
The application integrates Google’s Gemma / MedGemma model ecosystem through the Gemini API, with secure backend processing through Firebase Functions. This allows CamDiag to handle AI analysis responsibly while keeping sensitive implementation details, such as API keys, protected on the server side.
For Cameroon, this matters deeply. A patient in a remote area should not have to wait hours or days for basic diagnostic guidance. A community health worker should not be left without support when reviewing medical images or checking medication risks. A clinic should be able to use modern AI tools without needing the infrastructure of a major hospital.
CamDiag is still undergoing final polishing, but its purpose is clear: make AI-powered healthcare support more accessible, practical, and locally relevant for Cameroon and the broader African healthcare landscape.

What if your njangi circle had no admin who could disappear with the money? What if the ballot was drawn by code — not chosen by the organizer? What if you could pay from your MoMo phone, from anywhere in the world? That's https://t.co/N2vFNlJMI7 🧵
