100 years is not 100 days. 🎉Happy 100th Birthday to Prof. Otonti Amadi Nduka, DMGS Class of 1944 — a legendary Nigerian Professor of Education and a true inspiration to generations.100 years of wisdom.

Looking back, both principals shaped discipline, excellence, and character.
We may have feared them then—but we respected and appreciated them more after DMGS.
May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.

A powerful reflection on discipline, teaching, and leadership at DMGS through two unforgettable Principals.
From Dr. S. J. C. Cookey to S. O. Ogoazi, their methods were different—but their impact shaped generations.
A story worth remembering.
👇 Full reflection below
But Ogoazi was also an exceptional English Literature teacher.
He dissected Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar with mastery, producing excellent WAEC results—about 75% of Literature students earned strong grades.
He was feared and respected in equal measure.
On the lower field during games, boys would shift position as he moved across the pitch, trying to avoid being noticed.
Because if he caught you, a fault would be found—earlier or later.
In 1960, S. O. Ogoazi became Principal—and everything changed.
He was extremely strict. If he knew your father, it did not save you—sometimes it made things worse.
Even on the sports field, his presence alone caused students to scatter strategically.
We called him “Ogaa.”
Dr. S. J. C. Cookey was a gentleman Principal. Discipline was firm, and sometimes enforced through his assistant, Walter—a short, burly man.
If you committed a serious offence, Cookey would say:
“Walter, give him twelve.”
And you would feel it.
We called him “S Inja.”
A reflection on two great DMGS Principals by Archival Old Boy, Chief Guy Ojuba Okechukwu (DMGS Class of 1964, Stanley House), a renowned Estate Surveyor.
From Dr. S. J. C. Cookey (Principal, 1954–1960) to the first DMGS Old Boy Principal, S. O. Ogoazi (1960–1972).
