So I am here at the age of 32 realising few things
I was always a good student in school
Somehow after joining medical college as an undergraduate I couldn’t cope up always fought for pass mark though I always secured first class
Never gained confidence to face exams
With zero experience entered pg
MD internal medicine
I didn’t understand anything
I was lost
There were my colleagues / seniors / and teachers/ few family members who humiliated me that I was shattered
I always felt I was not sufficient enuf
I gave my 💯 and improved myself and passed out
Still there was some vaccum
I thought I should do DM to fulfill that vaccum
I started preparing for Endocrinology
I heard so many voices saying u can’t do it choose some other branch where competition would be less
But I didn’t want to compromise
I went ahead but so much of uncertainty so much of break downs
Somehow got the seat

Was I the happiest - actually no
Entered DM
With so many fears and insecurities thinking am I sufficient and will I be able to do it ?

I gave my 200% and cleared it with university gold medal

Was I happy - No !

I thought I would do MRCP then I will be fine
I partly cleared
Cleared SCE endocrinology

Was I happy - no ?
I thought if I get more patients I will be happy
I started to sit in a hospital where my footfall was zero per day n today it’s 15-20 per day
Was I happy - no ?

I realised that I am just chasing something in life one after the other seeking external validation while never acknowledging my achievements/ accomplishments

2024 have been a very tough year to begin with for me
Life full of unexpected changes
Life full of uncertainties
Life full of so many breakdowns

When I look back I have realised that I have come a long way with support of my friends / family

Today if someone asks me if I am happy
I would heartfully say I am

Are uncertainties cleared - No
Do I feel secure - no

Still I choose to be happy
Happiness is just a state of mind
Started finding happiness in small things
Grateful for the health / life / family god has given me

Ending this 2024 with so many memories and more stronger Bharathi
