Today, I joined leaders in Eldoret to mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, calling for safer, healthier and more supportive workplaces for all Kenyan workers.
Mental health and psychosocial wellbeing must now be a key focus in modern workplaces as remote work, economic pressures and changing environments continue to affect workers. I call for stronger workplace safety measures following the rise in occupational accidents across the country. Employers and workers must prioritize safety and timely reporting of injuries.
DOSHS Secretary Dr. Musa Nyandusi has urged employers and organizations to fully observe safety standards in all work environments, saying safe workplaces are critical in protecting lives, reducing injuries and improving productivity.
PS Shadrack Mwadime says mental health and psychosocial wellbeing must now become a key focus in modern workplaces as remote work, economic pressures and changing work environments continue to affect workers across the country.
