The same Chorus Letting was found over the last two years to have been managing 2-3 other hijacked buildings. In Maboneng, there are many other building like this. The company that they have used to threaten to blacklist business owners if they don’t vacate the building is TPN
We found out the company is owned by a shell Trust company owned by a foreign national who is inactive. The trust was due to expire last year 2022. That means that the building is currently floating with no legal owner.
We have gone to @JoburgPropComp to find the erf number of the building. The address of the building is 306 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg, Jeppestown. After we got the details, we went to @JHBWater@CityPowerJhb to verify who is the owner of the build based on the REF number.
After a year of waiting for them to produce the owner of the building, they failed. They have now issued us with letters to close our business and vacate the building, or they will black list owners and businesses.
The company is managed by foreign nationals who have refused to disclose who the actual owner of the building is. We have at multiple times requested to meet with the owner (as tenants) they are working for as to discuss serious issues that are affecting the building.
