DOW Rapid Response

Welcome to the Official Rapid Response Account of the Department of War.

[DOW Rapid Response @DOWResponse]

“Department of War” states the mission from the very top…

We prepare for war so that our adversaries never doubt the cost of starting one.

- Assistant Secretary of War for Public Affairs Sean Parnell

[Sean Parnell @SeanParnellASW]

President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had the conviction to call us the Department of War and say it plainly: America’s military exists to deter war through strength and, if necessary, fight and win.

The President has acted. Now Congress must finish the job and enshrine the Department of War name in law.

Thanks to President Trump, we are accelerating the Arsenal of Freedom and putting American industry back on top.

AMERICAN WORKERS. AMERICAN JOBS. AMERICAN MANUFACTURING.

FORTRESS is strategic deterrence in action, ensuring our defenses are hardened, proactive, and ready.

I created FORTRESS America because we can no longer rely on two oceans to protect us. That outdated assumption no longer reflects the threats we face.

President Trump and Secretary Hegseth understand this and have already paved the way with Golden Dome and a renewed focus on the Western Hemisphere, including Greenland and Panama. All of it reflects a fundamental shift in how we defend America.

War has evolved, the threats have evolved, and our defenses must evolve with them.

Under President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, military recruitment is surging to historic levels.

The War Department is exceeding recruitment goals and rebuilding America’s fighting force.

The fight of 2040 is being shaped TODAY.

This week, the disruptive minds of Project Meridian gathered at the @USNavy’s Maritime Big Play in San Diego, receiving briefings from @DeptofWar leaders and participating in intensive working sessions.

Together, they challenged conventional thinking and explored how emerging technologies and evolving warfighting domains will transform the future battlefield.

@SecWar’s 120-day sprint mandate is driving bold thinking about the future of combat and the capabilities needed to DOMINATE in next generation conflicts, ensuring America’s Joint Force maintains its decisive warfighting advantage.

[Tami Radabaugh @TRadabaughDOW]

Hosted country star @DrewRBaldridge earlier this week! He performed his song “Tough People” for our warfighters and left them with a special message.

[Sean Parnell @SeanParnellASW]

Today, @SECWAR reinstated Brigadier General Melissa Cunningham.

She was forced to retire after declining the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

We will not stop righting the wrongs of the Biden administration.

[Pete Hegseth @PeteHegseth]

Thank you Mr. Speaker — honored to have you co-leading Project Meridian: The Future of Warfare. The @DeptofWar will dominate all domains of future fights.

[Secretary of War Pete Hegseth @SecWar]

The War Department has designated Confucius Institutes as a threat to our national security.

The border is now a military installation and a battle lab for testing new systems, to include directed energy weapons. The border is locked down! @DoWCTO
