I wanted to believe that NMCN register Dr Farouk was innocent and was at the Mercy of the Fed Ministry of Health.
The man with a Quiet face promised protesting Nurses they would look into the situation yesterday.
The man proceeded to News Channel to lie about the whole situation this morning.
Nurses Be Prepared for long battle.
#NotoNMCNverficationrules.
Do you know how much of a devil you are when you can boldly lie on TV while smiling?
1. Many nurses don’t know what 100k feels like as a salary. My very first salary was 25k. You talking about global but employers discriminate SON nurses with the pay and insult BSC nurses. A NURSE IS A NURSE AND DESERVE WAY MORE THAN THAT. That is not a global practice.
2. The verification process taking 6months is a slap on the faces on Nigerians as a whole. It took me one month in 2022 to get ATT to test for NCLEX via Texas BON. Not once did they ask me for letter of good standing. I was also able to send my official NCLEX result within minutes to CRNA. MINUTES! Even Canada that was forming Lord and personal savior have started letting go of those stringent laws. They also have sth Farouk doesn’t… COMMON SENSE.
3. Digitalization 🤦🏻♀️ This is 2024. 21st century. A professional body has no customer care.. no email address that can be reached… the UI of their website is terrible. You have to call somebody to know somebody. Even IRCC has email addresses that work. You give us breadcrumbs and expect us to lick your feet. NA LIE!
To renew my NG license I had to do 30 hour courses. And you still sent a physical copy to my parents house which they had to scan for me. You call that digitalization? Have you seen what the countries you called are doing? Global my foot!
Meanwhile to renew my license here, I have the option to do pre-authorized debits for a couple of paychecks and depending who you use when it’s time, just go to your portal and pay the money cos it will be there. Because I have in two provinces, I can use where I work to still show and pay for the second without having to travel to Alberta to attend one week of whatever outdated program you want to teach. Again.. GLOBAL MY FOOT.
And NAMMN. Oh NAMMN. Such a disgrace. See the workings of unions and professional organizations ‘globally’ and hide your face in shame.
See ehn.. there’s so much to say but I just woke up. Make sleep clear from my eyes first.

Thank you @channelstv for inviting the NMCN Registrar and the NANNM Chairman for Lagos chapter to the morning brief and I hope that the NMCN will put the verification process back to what it was. I will like to make some comments about what the Registrar said on comment session.
The secretary of NMCN said and I quote; "All the processes are in line with Global and best practices". It's a white lie. No country seeks takes 6months in verifying their Nationals certificates or licenses. Only foreign certificate or licenses takes few days to weeks.
Today Nigerian nurses decided that @Nigeria_NMC must hear their voices
Today Nigerian nurses decided to tell NMCN enough is enough, they deserve to be heard and their opinion matters
Today Nurses said #NotoNMCNverfication
Day 6
Dear General Public,
Stand with Nurses today.
We need your support as we walk against oppression.
We need your support as we walk against bad policies.
We need your support as we firmly reject Modern Slavery.
We need your support to say #NotoNMCNverificationrules
NURSING RALLY REPORT
Date:February 12, 2024
**Location:** Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Headquarters, Abuja
**Event:** Reformative Walk
On January 12, 2024, nurses in Abuja gathered at the NMCN Headquarters for a Reformative Walk, demonstrating unity in our cause. As we assembled outside the office, Police Officers from Life Camp questioned our presence in large numbers. We respectfully explained our purpose, persisting in our resolve to meet with our legal council leaders.
After negotiation, we were granted access to our leaders. The Registrar of NMCN addressed us, requesting a formal letter outlining our demands. We promptly submitted the letter and received assurances that our concerns would be addressed in few days. Despite attempts by accompanying armed forces to restrict our dialogue, some concerns were expressed verbally.
Although dissatisfied with being asked to await feedback, we complied peacefully, committing to remain active in our cause. Attendees engaged in smaller group discussions to further articulate objectives. Refreshments were provided, along with copies of a text written by Nrs Cynthia Okafor Adeyeri titled, "Why I Hate Nursing Practice in Nigeria,"
At 11:21 am, the gathering dispersed peacefully, with no reports of property damage, violence, or abusive language. Conversations remained respectful despite the presence of armed forces dispatched by the NMCN.
We anticipate further developments and reaffirm our commitment to advocating for necessary reforms within our profession.

My PhD Nursing application at one of the world's top universities did not require @Nigeria_NMC verification, but some great institutions do. Also, these admission processes are time-sensitive. I hope many of our aspiring scholars won't miss global opportunities...
Don’t be scared about coming out for the demonstration, it will be as peaceful as you can ever imagine. We have security backings and clearance so if the issue of security is your fear, worry no more cause nurses reform initiatives gat your back. There will be enough refreshments 😁 and nurse Cynthia will be giving out free copies of her book “why i hate nursing practice in Nigeria’’
