I’ve said this before and keep I’ll saying it, welcome to #TotalitarianDictatorshipUK orchestrated by the Tory/UKIP cult, supported by the BBC hierarchy and most of the MSM.
Andoni Iraola on Anfield:
“I’ve been the other side – I still remember the goal [Federico] Chiesa scored at the end of the first game of the season!
“We were there with 2-2 thinking that probably we could take something. He scored and the place erupted. It was crazy, no? I want now to feel this from the other side.
“At the beginning when you arrive at any club, I think you need to kind of prove a little bit yourself. You need to earn the right also to belong. I want to do this as quickly as possible so I can also celebrate with them and I can be part properly of those celebrations.
“For me, football is about emotions. About passion.
“I’m quite cool-headed probably, during my life quite rational, I would say. But it’s true that when the game starts, when you have to celebrate a goal, something is inside, no?
“I think this inner energy, you need it as a player, you need it as a supporter, you need it as a coach. No better place than Anfield.”
Liverpool have confirmed the appointment of Andoni Iraola as their new head coach. He has signed a two-year deal, in keeping with his preference for short contracts. Quickly became the frontrunner to replace Arne Slot and as such was the only candidate interviewed.
Iraola’s message to Liverpool fans: “I cannot ask them for a lot. I know how they are. I can only say that I want to become one more of you. I want to earn the right to be one of you, so we can enjoy all together.”
Sounds like he wants to use the power of Anfield as he’s felt it as an opposition manager and he knows to get that he needs for the supporters to identify with how the team plays and fights. It sounds exciting if he can get his methods across
In the space of a week we've had:
• Slot sacked
• The Gabriel penalty miss
• Dumfries signing for Madrid
• Iraola getting announced.
I've not had a week like this in football for a while. I have my love back.
Mikel Arteta want so desperately to be Liverpool FC.
He’s copied the pre-match emotive anthem played at Anfield for over 60 years, about sticking together through hard times & unity, with their song about drugs, whores & desolation in North London.
Arsenal are from South London
Liverpool tried to sign Iraola as a player when he was at Athletic Club but he stayed put. Twelve years on, he's tasked with launching a new era at Anfield.
