DPF is a statutory independent body whose main job is to ensure that you, yes, you - a depositor in a financial institution regulated by Bank of Uganda do not lose your money if it were closed for liquidation. That's it. That's our mandate.
Tune in to @ubctvuganda at 9:00am to understand what deposit insurance is and how the Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda contributes to the stability of the financial sector.

Today, the Deposit Protection Fund, a corporate member of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (@ibfsUg), took part in the ongoing Banking and Financial Services Awareness Campaign.
As part of the outreach, DPF’s Senior Officer Legal Affairs, Mr. Jude Thaddeus Lubega, engaged market vendors at Nakawa Market through Nakawa Vendors Voice, a community radio program. Speaking in Luganda, he broke down the mandate of the DPF & led an interactive discussion on deposit insurance.
These UIBFS-led outreaches continue to empower grassroots communities with essential financial literacy, enabling them to make informed and responsible financial decisions.
