We should rewrite the entire tax code. Simplify it and make it revenue neutral. We should sunset the current code over a five year period. During the five year period taxpayers would have the option of using the old code or the new code to compute their tax returns. If a taxpayer chooses to file using the new code they ca no longer use the old code. At the end of the five year period all taxpayers would be required to file using the new code. This would allow taxpayers five years to plan and adjust for the new code.
