We oversee Rwanda's Data Protection and Privacy Law and work to ensure protection of personal data and privacy for all individuals in Rwanda.
Call us on 9080.
New number… same digital doors still open.
A lot of people upgrade phones, swap SIMs, change emails, then forget one thing: their old contacts are still attached to accounts somewhere.
That “small” leftover detail can become the easiest way for someone to try a reset.
Do a quick monthly cleanup:
- check recovery phone + email on your key accounts (banking, socials, email)
- remove what you no longer use
- turn on 2-step verification
- if anything feels off, report it early Your security isn’t only passwords, it’s your recovery paths. #DataProtection #TekanaOnline

Ever notice how an ad feels a little too familiar?
That’s usually tracking not coincidence.
The good news? You get to decide.
Your device isn’t a public space, and saying “Don’t allow” isn’t being difficult it’s being intentional.
Check your app permissions. Turn off what you don’t need.
Small choices, real control.

You trust a vendor.
They handle the data.
But the responsibility stays with you.
When third parties process personal data without a binding contract, control turns into exposure. One “honest” shortcut can lead to breaches and legal consequences.
Some mistakes aren’t intentional.
They still cost. #DataProtection

Yesterday at @DigiCenterRW, NCSA participated in a dialogue organized by @giz_rwanda and @RealSmartAfrica on #Women in #Cybersecurity: Global Trends, Opportunities and Africa's Digital Future.
The event convened stakeholders from government institutions, regional organizations, the private sector, and academia to discuss approaches to strengthening women’s participation across technical, policy, and leadership roles within the cybersecurity ecosystem.
Speaking on behalf of NCSA, Ms. Rosemary Butare outlined the institution’s capacity development initiatives aimed at increasing women’s participation in cybersecurity. She highlighted the Cyberhub, one of NCSA’s flagship programs, which targets a minimum of 30% female participation among trainees, as well as ongoing awareness initiatives—particularly in schools—designed to encourage both girls and boys to explore opportunities within the cybersecurity field.
She further emphasized the need to address barriers to entry and retention, including the importance of more realistic certification and experience requirements, as well as the development of workplace policies that foster supportive and inclusive environments for women in cybersecurity.
Your phone knows a lot about you; where you’ve been, what you like, who you talk to, what you search when nobody’s watching.
That information is powerful. And because it’s powerful, it deserves boundaries.
Today’s 3-step challenge:
- SAVE this as your reminder
- SHARE it with someone who always clicks “Allow”
- ACT: check your privacy settings and remove one unnecessary access
