In today’s day and age, finance scammers are getting more creative, more advanced, and more ruthless.

We’re launching the Tekana Online « Be CyberSmart » Campaign by tackling a dangerous but little known public threat: Evil Twin Wi-Fi networks.

When you join public Wi-Fi at a local cafe or restaurant, you might actually be connecting to a fake network hosted by a hacker. Once connected, they can seize your personal data and steal confidential information.

When using Wi-Fi in a public setting, always verify the network name with staff, make sure you use a VPN, and turn off auto-connect.

You can fight back. 

Be alert, stay cyber smart!

Appointing a DPO is not enough.
For compliance to work, a DPO must have decision-making authority, access to systems, and independence from operational pressure.

A DPO without power cannot prevent misuse, breaches, or unlawful processing.
